Steelers Announce Inactive List for Texans Playoff Game, Include Two Young Players

G2 Esports secures a thrilling 3-2 victory over T1 to clinch the $500K prize at the Valorant Champions 2023 finals.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced their inactive list ahead of the matchup against the Houston Texans, revealing that the team is fully healthy and there are no unexpected omissions. This marks a significant point in the season as the Steelers strive to maintain their competitive edge.

Among the players remaining inactive are running back Kaleb Johnson and wide receiver Roman Wilson. Both players have had opportunities to showcase their talents but have been sidelined for several weeks due to the team’s decision to tighten its roster rotation. Their continued inactivity highlights the Steelers’ current roster depth, particularly in offensive positions.

Offensive lineman Jack Driscoll also finds himself inactive. As the ninth offensive lineman on the roster, Driscoll’s absence is less of a concern given the team’s robust health at that position. The Steelers appear well-prepared to face their upcoming opponent without any significant changes to their offensive line.

Quarterback Will Howard remains designated as the emergency third quarterback. Since his return from injured reserve earlier in the season, Howard has maintained this role behind Mason Rudolph and Aaron Rodgers. This stability in the quarterback position is crucial for the Steelers as they look to solidify their offensive strategy for the game against the Texans.

In a surprising move, cornerback Tre Flowers has been elevated from the practice squad but will not be active for the game. This decision mirrors a similar strategy used last season when the Steelers elevated players like wide receivers Scotty Miller and Jamal Agnew. Flowers has seen limited action this season, having played in only one game before his stint on the practice squad.

Additionally, outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon and interior defensive lineman Logan Lee will also be inactive. Moon was brought in from the Panthers’ practice squad in response to T.J. Watt’s injury, while Lee has been active in recent weeks, particularly against run-heavy teams. This strategic decision indicates the Steelers’ adaptability to their opponent’s gameplay style.

As the Steelers prepare to face the Texans, this roster situation underscores the team’s depth and flexibility. The lack of surprises on the inactive list bodes well for Pittsburgh, suggesting that they can field their best lineup and maintain momentum as they navigate the rest of the season. The ability to keep key players healthy is vital as the team looks to establish itself in a competitive landscape.
