Moon Studios, the developer behind the acclaimed Ori series, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for its action RPG, No Rest for the Wicked, which is currently in early access. The highly anticipated update, titled No Rest for the Wicked Together, is set to launch on January 22, 2026, officially introducing co-op gameplay to the title.
The co-op feature had been previously accessible during a beta weekend at the end of 2025, but the upcoming update will make it available to all players. Moon Studios announced that this update “reimagines traditional co-op multiplayer play of current ARPGs and MMORPGs,” allowing up to four players to share a free, persistent Realm without requiring a host to be online.
This innovative approach allows players to collaborate not only in combat but also in various other activities throughout the game. Each player will share the rewards from battles, and the game will adapt enemy behaviors based on the number of friends involved in combat. Players will also have the opportunity to work together outside of fights, engaging in activities such as building housing and fishing, thereby enhancing the overall multiplayer experience.
The ‘Together’ update marks the first significant addition to No Rest for the Wicked in 2026, following its early access launch nearly two years ago on April 18, 2024. While a specific date for the game’s full 1.0 launch has not yet been disclosed, speculations among the community suggest that it could materialize sometime within this year. As co-op functionality becomes available, there is a growing sense of optimism among fans that the game is on a trajectory toward a full release in 2026.
This update not only aims to enhance player interaction but also to redefine how cooperative play is experienced in the action RPG genre. As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, the introduction of this feature may set a new standard for future titles, emphasizing the importance of community and shared experiences in gaming.
