PlayStation and Sega-Inspired Mini Computer Launches with Powerful Features

FaZe Clan secures a thrilling 3-2 victory over G2 in the grand finals, earning $500K and the title at the Global Esports Championship 2023.

Acemagic is gearing up to launch a compact desktop computer that highlights design elements reminiscent of the original PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast. This initiative aims to attract retro gaming enthusiasts who value aesthetics as much as functionality, providing a device that stands out rather than being tucked away behind a screen.

The premium model, named the Board 3 Dual-C Retro Style, incorporates several design features that echo the beloved consoles of the past. Among these are two upper buttons along with a circular indicator mimicking the appearance of a disc drive, and a dedicated power button located at the front for easy access. The front panel is equipped with both USB Type-A and USB Type-C ports, in addition to a 3.5 mm headphone jack, facilitating convenient connectivity without the need to reach around the back of the device.

Under the hood, the Board 3 runs on AMD’s Gorgon Point platform, which includes an impressive Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor having 12 cores and 24 threads. The graphics capabilities are powered by a Radeon 890M iGPU featuring 16 compute units, promising solid performance for both retro and modern gaming experiences. The device also supports SO-DIMM memory of up to 64 GB, alongside NVMe PCIe 5.0 storage options allowing for up to 4 TB for each unit, ensuring ample space for games and applications.

With a compact design measuring just 140 x 128 x 40.8 mm and a volume of 0.73 liters, the Board 3 is tailored for easy placement in living rooms or on narrow shelves, making it a versatile option for gamers who may not have the luxury of expansive space. The emphasis on combining retro aesthetics with contemporary capabilities positions this device as a potential focal point in any gaming setup.

As for pricing and availability, Acemagic has yet to announce specific details, leaving its enthusiasts to anticipate the CES 2026 showcase for a closer look at the design and initial specifications. This unveiling could provide key insights into whether the Board 3 is simply an eye-catching piece or a functional device capable of meeting the demands of modern gaming.

The Board 3 Dual-C Retro Style promises a unique blend of nostalgia and performance, appealing to those who appreciate the classic gaming aesthetic while desiring the latest technology. As the gaming community continues to evolve, devices that honor the past while embracing modern advancements are becoming increasingly desirable. With its retro design and powerful specifications, the Board 3 may very well become a staple for gamers who yearn for a connection to their gaming roots, all while enjoying the perks of contemporary hardware.
