Nintendo Launches Super Mario Land Soundtrack with 33 Tracks on Nintendo Music App

Nintendo releases a 33-track album from Super Mario Land on December 16, 2025, enhancing its Nintendo Music app and celebrating gaming nostalgia.

Nintendo has expanded its Nintendo Music app library, introducing a new album featuring music from the classic Game Boy title, Super Mario Land. This latest addition, released on December 16, 2025, includes 33 tracks that span a total runtime of 24 minutes. Among the standout pieces are the iconic themes from Birabuto Kingdom and Muda Kingdom, providing nostalgia for longtime fans and an introduction to the series for new players.

The announcement was made via a tweet from Nintendo of America, which emphasized that the music from Super Mario Land is now available on the app. This release aligns with Nintendo’s ongoing efforts to enhance its music offerings, having recently added soundtracks from other titles, including Yoshi’s Crafted World and a special sample from Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Originally launched in the late 1980s, Super Mario Land holds a significant place in gaming history. Players embark on a whimsical journey through various kingdoms to rescue Princess Daisy, battling unique enemies and navigating imaginative landscapes. The soundtrack played a crucial role in the game’s charm, and this new album brings those beloved melodies back to life.

The full tracklist showcases a variety of compositions, including multiple variations of the same theme, allowing listeners to experience the different contexts in which the music appears throughout the game. Tracks such as “Hurry Up!” versions of several melodies highlight the urgency that players felt while navigating through challenges. This attention to detail in the soundtrack reflects the game’s engaging gameplay and its lasting impact on the platforming genre.

To access the music on the Nintendo Music app, users will need an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Additionally, Super Mario Land can be played through the ‘Nintendo Classics’ Game Boy library available on both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. This accessibility allows a new generation of gamers to experience the title and its nostalgia-inducing soundtrack.

Last week’s introduction of a “year in review” feature on the Nintendo Music app further enhances the listening experience, enabling users to track their most-played tracks and explore their personalized playlists. This ongoing enhancement to the app aims not only to celebrate classic games but to create a deeper connection between players and the soundtracks that accompany their gaming journeys.

As Nintendo continues to enrich its music library, fans of Super Mario Land can look forward to revisiting the melodies that shaped their childhoods while new players discover the audio landscape that complements their adventures in the Mushroom Kingdom. The release of the Super Mario Land album marks another step in Nintendo’s commitment to celebrate the rich history of its franchises and engage audiences both old and new.
