Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Demo Now Live on Xbox and Switch 2 Platforms

FaZe Clan secures a stunning 3-1 victory over G2 Esports to win the $500K IEM Cologne 2023, solidifying their dominance in CS:GO.

Square Enix has unveiled a free demo version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade set to release for Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2. This demo allows players to experience the game’s iconic first chapter, specifically the mission to destroy the Mako Reactor 1. Importantly, players will have the option to transfer their progress to the full version of the game at any time, providing a seamless transition for those who wish to continue their adventure. Additionally, participants in the demo will earn unique in-game items, including a Survival Kit and Revival Earrings, enhancing their gameplay experience.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade serves as a reimagining of the beloved classic, marrying traditional command-based combat with dynamic real-time action. Players follow the story of Cloud Strife, a former elite soldier who becomes a mercenary and joins the Avalanche group in their mission to sabotage the Mako Reactor 1 in Midgar. The successful bombing sets off a chain reaction of chaos throughout the city, while Cloud begins to experience disturbing visions of an old adversary he thought was long gone.

For those playing on the Xbox Series X, the game will offer two performance modes: a Graphics Mode that boasts native 4K resolution and a Performance Mode targeting 60 frames per second. In contrast, the demo available on the Nintendo Switch 2 runs at a stable 30 frames per second, showcasing the game’s visual fidelity while accommodating the hardware capabilities of the new console.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is set to officially launch on January 22, 2026, for PC, as part of Xbox Play Anywhere, as well as for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S. This release marks a significant moment for the franchise, allowing a new generation of gamers to engage with a hallmark of RPG history while providing longtime fans with an updated experience.

The introduction of a demo version serves as a strategic move by Square Enix, allowing players to familiarize themselves with the mechanics and storyline before committing to the full game purchase. As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, offering accessible entry points can be vital for attracting both seasoned players and newcomers alike. The anticipation surrounding the full release is likely to grow as more players experience the demo and share their impressions, further solidifying the Final Fantasy franchise’s legacy in the gaming industry.
