Rumors are intensifying within the CIS Counter-Strike community as Ivan “zweih” Gogin is reportedly poised for a swift return to top-tier competition. Multiple insiders suggest that the 18-year-old is expected to leave the bench at Team Spirit and join PARIVISION, potentially filling the slot of Andrey “AW” Anisimov in their starting lineup. This news first surfaced through acclaimed scout Aleksei “OverDrive” Birukov and has since been corroborated by several outlets, indicating that a deal could be nearing completion.
Sources indicate that PARIVISION is actively negotiating with Team Spirit to secure zweih’s signature, just under two weeks after he was moved to the bench. If the transfer materializes, it would mark a rapid shift for the young rifler following his last appearance for Spirit at the Budapest Major. OverDrive has claimed that zweih is expected to take the place of AW, who has been with PARIVISION since July after transferring from AMKAL. This signing also initiated a leadership change, with Dzhami “Jame” Ali stepping in as the in-game leader following the departure of Aleksei “Qikert” Golubev.
Zweih’s tenure at Team Spirit was brief but notable. He joined the organization in July after transferring from Nemiga and spent a mere five months on the active roster. During this time, he contributed to significant victories for Spirit, including triumphs at the IEM Cologne and the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals, which were among the team’s most important achievements that year. Despite these successes, he struggled with consistency, finishing his stint with an average rating of 0.92. Consequently, Spirit opted for roster adjustments after a lackluster second half of the season, bringing back Boris “magixx” Vorobiev and Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia while moving on from Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov, who decided to step away from competition.
Head coach Sergey “hally” Shavaev noted at the time that zweih still required additional development time to evolve into a complete elite-level player. For PARIVISION, acquiring zweih represents a strategic risk with potential long-term benefits. Currently ranked 17th in the global VRS standings, the team showcased promise at the Budapest Major, progressing through the initial stages with victories against teams like Legacy, Liquid, Aurora, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. However, their tournament run ended abruptly in Stage 3, where they faced an 0–3 exit after losses to MOUZ, Natus Vincere, and 3DMAX. Integrating a high-potential player like zweih may be viewed as an effort to enhance the team’s firepower and future prospects.
As of now, neither Team Spirit nor PARIVISION has issued an official announcement regarding the prospective transfer. Nevertheless, with ongoing reports from credible insiders, this transfer appears to be a matter of when, rather than if. Should the move be confirmed, it would stand out as one of the more compelling roster changes in CS2 this offseason, granting the young talent a fresh start while also signaling PARIVISION’s commitment to climbing the ranks within the competitive landscape.
