Shad0w Joins CTBC Flying Oyster as New Jungler for LCP 2026 After LEC and LPL Tenure

CTBC Flying Oyster signs jungler Zhao “Shad0w” Zhi-Qiang to replace JunJia in a major roster overhaul ahead of the 2026 LCP season.

CTBC Flying Oyster has welcomed Zhao “Shad0w” Zhi-Qiang as its new jungler, marking a significant shift within the team as it prepares for the 2026 season of the LCP. Shad0w, who previously showcased his skills in the LPL and LEC, aims to fill the void left by JunJia, who has departed alongside several other key players. This roster overhaul comes on the heels of a dominant 2025 season, where CFO secured three split victories and represented the league in all three international tournaments.

Following a tumultuous offseason, CFO is gearing up for a new era. The organization has seen notable departures, including support player Ling “Kaiwing” Kai Wing, to Vivo Keyd Stars in the CBLOL, and Shen “Driver” Tsung-Hua, who was not re-signed. The mid-jungle duo of Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia and Tsai “HongQ” Ming-Hong have also made their way to JD Gaming. With only Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-Chuan remaining under contract, CFO’s roster has shifted dramatically, complicating the retention of its previous lineup.

Shad0w’s transition to the LCP comes after a successful stint in the LPL, where he made significant contributions to his teams over multiple splits. Now at 24 years old, he will be taking the starting jungle position that was previously held by JunJia. His performance during the 2025 season was noteworthy; he not only clinched two successful splits with FunPlus Phoenix but also made a high-profile transfer to BLG as their third jungler. Known for his aggressive playstyle, Shad0w’s champion pool, which includes power picks like Pantheon, Xin Zhao, and Vi, has garnered him a reputation as a clutch player. He finished fourth among LPL junglers for average damage per minute (493.8) and sixth for gold differential at the 15-minute mark (+7.1).

As the team prepares for the new season, CFO’s coaching staff remains stable. Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei has been re-signed as Head Coach, while Hsu “Rest” Shih-Chieh secured his position just prior to Shad0w’s announcement. This continuity in coaching could be crucial as CFO looks to maintain its legacy of dominance within the league. The organization’s past success has set high expectations for the incoming players, and Shad0w’s ability to lead the new roster will be pivotal.

After a year of instability marked by various roster changes, Shad0w’s addition to CFO could provide the anchor the team needs to regain its championship form. With a blend of promising talent and experienced leadership, the organization aims to not only continue its winning tradition but also to solidify its standing on the international stage. The upcoming season will test the mettle of the revamped roster, as fans eagerly await to see if Shad0w can help steer CFO back to the pinnacle of the LCP.

As the 2026 season approaches, the focus has shifted to how effectively Shad0w can adapt to his new environment and whether he can help usher in a new era for CFO. The team’s upcoming matches will undoubtedly be scrutinized closely as they seek to reclaim their former glory and continue their legacy in the ever-competitive landscape of professional esports.
