Krafton India Reveals BGMI Series 2026 Schedule; ₹2 Crore Prize Pool Awaits Teams

Krafton India opens registration for the ₹2 crore BGMI Series 2026 on December 15, aiming to enhance inclusivity and competition for aspiring esports teams.

Krafton India has officially announced the registration dates for the fifth edition of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2026, with the registration process slated to begin on December 15, 2025. This year’s tournament promises to be more expansive, featuring a prize pool of ₹2 crore and an extended format that aims to foster greater participation among players.

The registration window will close on January 4, 2026, allowing teams ample time to prepare their entries. Following this, registration data verification will occur from January 5 to January 7, 2026, ensuring that all participating teams meet the eligibility criteria. In-game qualifiers are set to take place from January 8 to January 14, 2026, and will serve as the initial competitive phase of the tournament, leading into subsequent online and LAN stages.

Karan Pathak, associate director of sports at Krafton India, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing the Indian esports ecosystem. “In 2026, our goal is to elevate Indian esports by creating a system that is more inclusive, more aspirational, and more deeply connected to the millions of players who have supported BGMI over the years,” he stated. Pathak noted that BGIS has historically been a platform for underdogs to emerge as champions, and the expanded format this year is designed to enhance that opportunity.

The tournament is part of Krafton’s broader strategy for the Indian esports landscape, which includes major events like the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) and the Battlegrounds Mobile India International Cup (BMIC). The recently unveiled Esports Roadmap for 2026 outlines key tournaments and their timelines, further indicating Krafton’s dedication to creating a robust competitive environment for players and fans alike.

The BGIS has steadily grown in popularity since its inception, reflecting the increasing interest in esports within India. The upcoming edition is expected to attract a large number of participants, as well as viewership, given the significant prize pool and the inclusive nature of the tournament structure. As the competitive gaming scene continues to evolve, initiatives like BGIS are critical for fostering talent and providing platforms for aspiring gamers.

With the registration process just weeks away, teams and players are gearing up to participate in one of the most anticipated events in the Indian esports calendar. The outcomes of the in-game qualifiers will determine which teams advance further in the competition, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting series of matchups leading up to the final stages of the tournament.

As the esports landscape shifts and expands, Krafton’s initiatives are crucial for promoting not only competitive gaming but also the overall growth of the gaming culture in India. The BGIS 2026 represents a significant stepping stone in that journey, promising to deliver thrilling competition and potentially unearthing the next generation of esports talent in the country.
